CHATHAM-KENT DICKENS FELLOWSHIP

About Us

Our History

The CKDF is one of the newest branches of the International Dickens Fellowship. We were formed in 2003 by a small group of local citizens interested in promoting the artistic and economic development of Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada through the writings of Charles Dickens.

The parallels between our community and that of Chatham inKent, England are highlighted in some of our articles which are published in an internet newspaper “CKTimes” (www.cktimes.ca) under the column heading - Heritage and Culture -“Dialogue with Dickens”. These articles also include commentaries about Dickens' works.

Our Vision

Chatham-Kent is the Canadian centre for the celebration of Charles Dickens, his works and his times.
